Hey guys, doing some commercial renderings, any critique or feedback would be appreciated.

The room ones pretty much done, specially as the 1280 res one took 27 hours to render ONE image.... radiosity... juicy

Heres the low-res version

And a mossy tree i whipped up playing around with bump mapping... trees are a bitch to build, thus, no leaves ;)

Um my creative skills leave much to be desired, but you asked for feedback
ie please note this critique is offered from one who is retardly uncreative

Textures look awesome, as does the background and settings.
My major critique is the lighting levels in the areas of detail seem a little over bright, specifically the overhead light and wall closest to the left hand side of the shot.
2nd would be too much reflection on the window, I (personally retardly uncreatively) think that a slight understatement of the reflection would give the facade a more real appearance.

That said your lightwave skillz roxor, and I hope I see your work in an ad of some sort :)

3dsmax? ew... photorealism not its friend sadly :( very fun for character animation...

lil spence : thanks, all very valid, the overbright area was annoying me too :) -- if you want to see my work in an ad its already in Delfins 2005/2006 tv and billboard campaign for Springfield Lakes stage 3, was on tv a few months back and i think the billboards still up out tehre

but ----, they made me put in a green couch... it was disgusting :/

Lighting and Radiosity is perfect!

to be picky (for constructive purposes) I think that the lamps on the walls should be more transparent and cast a softer shadow.

The Coffee table is too reflective and needs some imperfection

The Edges around the Window and Sliding Doors need mouldings for the outer frames and inner mouldings for the Aluminium windows frames

The Carpets Texture is too flat - needs more texture/bumpmapping/larger patterned texture

And just maybe reduce the reflectivity of the window and sliding door to make the reflections a bit more dull

Bumface is right about the lamp on the far left - too much light coming out of it unless it was a halogen headlamp

If you did that I think it would be all but indistinguishable from a Photo
